(MOORHEAD, MINN.) – The Minot State women's basketball team lost in a lopsided affair at MSU Moorhead this evening. The Dragons led from the tip to the final buzzer and came out on top with a 78-50 victory.
The Minot State offense struggled to find any rhythm and could not get up with the Dragons' pace. Junior Forward
Haley Hildenbrand led the Beavers in scoring with 11 points and was the only Minot State player to crack double-figures. Hildenbrand also grabbed the second-most rebounds for MSU with five while Molliie Wilson led the team with six rebounds. Guard
Bethany Theodore had a team-high three assists.
The Dragons, on the other side, had four players score in double-digits. Peyton Boom led the way with 21 points followed by Megan Hintz with 15, Nicole Herbranson with 11, and Natalie Steichen with 10. Boom also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the field. Steichen dished out five assists, the most on the club.
With the loss tonight, Minot State must win tomorrow afternoon's game at Northern State in order to move up the NSIC standings. The game versus the Wolves will be the regular season finale for the Beavers.
