Four Women's Hockey Stand-Outs Named to WMCH All-Tournament Team

(ST. LOUIS, MO.) - This past weekend, Women's Midwest Collegiate Hockey hosted its inaugural Championship Tournament. Today, the WMCH is proud to announce its All-Tournament First and Second teams. The first team is led by two players from tournament champion Liberty and a trio of athletes from the runner up, Minot State.

First Team:

Goalie:

Jordan Ivanco, Minot State:  Ivanco, a native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan who also earned the WMCH First-Team All-League honors for the regular season, notched a 25-save shutout to snap Lindenwood-Belleville's nine-game winning streak. In the final, Ivanco stopped 31 Liberty shots in the Beaver's 2-1 defeat by the Flames.

Defense:

Emily John, Liberty:  John, a senior from Parry Sound, Ontario, played her usual exceptional defense while leading the Flames to the WMCH Championship. The Flames only surrendered one goal in 120 minutes of action over the weekend.

Brooke Mead, Minot State: A senior from Regina, Saskatchewan, Mead provided leadership to the Beavers blue-liners on the way to the championship game. After shutting out Lindenwood-Belleville, the Beavers fell to Liberty in the championship game but only surrendered a pair of goals in two games for the championship.

Forward:

Mackenzie Balogh, Minot State: Balogh, who hails from Kipling, Saskatchewan, opened her tournament with an assist on the only goal the Beavers needed to upend Lindenwood-Belleville. In the final, Balogh notched a helper on the lone Beavers goal of the afternoon.

Valeriia Manchak, Liberty: A native of Kiev, Ukraine, Manchak opened her tournament with a two-goal game against McKendree. In the final, Manchak played another strong game, especially in the defensive zone.

Megan Norris, Lindenwood-Belleville: Norris, who joined the Lynx from Innisfil, Ontario, was the leading scorer for the WMCH Tournament. After notching a hat trick against Midland in the quarterfinals, Norris added a goal in the third-place game against McKendree.

Second Team:

Goalie:

Hannah Stone, Lindenwood-Belleville: Stone, a native of Killingsworth, Connecticut, recorded a pair of shutouts against Midland and McKendree and only surrendered one goal against Minot State in the semifinal.

Defense:

Delayne Ivanowksi, McKendree: The senior from Kirkwood, Missouri notched a goal and an assist in the Bearcats 4-3 victory against Minnesota in the quarterfinals.

Jessica Walker, Lindenwood-Belleville: Walker, from Carberry, Manitoba, notched assists against Midland and McKendree and limited Lynx opponents to just one goal in three games.

Forwards:

Livia Twohig, Minnesota: Twohig, a native of Woodbury, Minnesota, scored a goal against McKendree in the quarterfinals before adding a goal and an assist against Midland.

Sami Jo Henry, Minot State: Henry, who hails from Balgonie, Saskatchewan, scored the game-winning-goal against Lindenwood-Belleville and then notched the Beavers only tally in the championship game against Liberty.

Dakota McAlpine, Lindenwood-Belleville: McAlpine, a native of Brockville, Ontario, notched assists against Midland and McKendree and proved a force on the Lynx penalty kill which didn't allow a goal all weekend.
