MINOT, ND --The Minot State volleyball team fell in five sets (27-29, 21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 11-15) to the Minnesota State-Moorhead Dragons Tuesday at home at MSU Dome.

The loss dropped Minot State's record to 1-21 overall and 1-15 in NSIC play.

The Beavers were led by a double-double from Alexandra Koontz, who registered 14 kills and 11 digs on the day. Hailey Wathen also added 15 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Tea Boeckel chipped in for MISU with 23 digs to go with three blocks from Jenna Pahlen.

SET 2 | Minot State lost the second set 25-21, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. The Beavers trailed by as many as nine points as Minnesota State-Moorhead grabbed the advantage for good at 6-5 in a set that was tied up six times before the Dragons took over the lead.

SET 3 | Minot State avoided a sweep after a victory in the third set to make it a 2-1 match. The Beavers took the set 25-20 propelled by a solid performance on the attacking end. Minot State registered a .500 attack percentage with 15 kills in the set win. The Beavers ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza.

SET 4 | Minot State then kept the comeback train rolling, winning the fourth set 25-21 to bring the match level at two sets apiece. A fantastic serving effort helped Minot State pick up a victory in a set where they recorded six aces. The Beavers rallied from down five at 17-12 to grab the win.

SET 5 | Minot State dropped the first two sets, but rallied to even it at two sets apiece before falling 15-11 in the fifth set. The Beavers had a lead early in the set at 9-8 before Minnesota State-Moorhead took over.
