No.1 Beavers remain undefeated heading into 2-night series against UI

MINOT, ND ‒ With an impressive starting record of 5-0-0, the Beavers head into their competition against University of Illinois this weekend as the No. 1 team in the nation after a recent ACHA poll.

Jake Anthony and rookie Riley Wallace, the Minot State goalie duo, have each played a huge role in the strong Beavers defense that has allowed them to remain one of the only two undefeated teams in their division.

Coming into early November Carter Barley leads the Beavers as one their top scorers, averaging two points per game along with 3 goals on the season. Another key offender on the ice is Connor Navrot, averaging 1.2 points per game and leading the team with 5 goals scored.

After a challenging start and being pushed into overtime to earn their first win of the season, the Beavers have continuously improved since their opening weekend, with their most recent victory being a 8-1 shutdown over Williston State.

The Minot State men's hockey team looks to continue their win streak this weekend in the Magic City in a 2-game series against the Fighting Illini. The first puck drops at the Maysa Arena on Friday, Nov 6 at 7:30p.m.,  followed by a Saturday night matchup at 8p.m.
