MOORHEAD, Minn. --
Sofia Lewis scored a late goal to lift the Minot State University soccer team past the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons 1-0 on the road Saturday.
The Beavers improve to 5-2 with the victory and the Dragons fall to 0-5 during the spring season with the loss.
Minot State out-shot MSU Moorhead 4-1 in the first half and 5-1 in the second half but only tested Dragons' goalie Kayleigh Sedlacek once in the game.
Sofia Lewis tallied five shots with her only shot on goal resulting in the lone goal of the match late in the second half.

Sofia Galvez each recorded a shot but did not test the Dragons goalie.
Finally, at 88:06 in the second half, Lewis scored to put the Beavers in front for good, 1-0. The goal marked the seventh of the season for Lewis.
The Beavers' defense was tough as nails as they allowed just two shots but zero on the net. In total, MSU out-shot Moorhead 9-2 with only one shot on goal in the game.
Minot State is no stranger to late-game heroics against MSU Moorhead. The Beavers used two late goals from Lewis on Mar. 26 at home against the Dragons to secure a 3-1 victory.
The Beavers have one more game to play during this spring season with a matchup tomorrow against Bemidji State in Moorhead, Minn. Game time is 1 p.m.
