SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- Minot State rallied from a 1-0 deficit to take down the Mavericks of Colorado Mesa 2-1 in overtime Saturday (Sept. 11) at Dumke Field.
The Beavers improved to 1-2-0 overall following the win.
How it Happened
Colorado Mesa broke the 0-0 tie when Lila Dere scored in the 54th minute.
The Beavers evened the match on a goal from Lainey Sandberg -- her first goal of the season -- in the final minute, assisted by Mel van Walstijn.
The Beavers scored the golden goal in overtime via Chloe Allan -- her second goal of the season -- thanks in part to Hannah Mitchell setting up the assist.
Game Notes
- Maddie Kindred collected six saves for the Beavers out of 21 total Mavericks shots.
- Minot State registered seven shots on goal.
