MINOT, N.D.- Minot State soccer (5-2, 4-0 NSIC) will look to keep their undefeated conference play streak when they play their conference home opener. They open the weekend on Friday against the Winona State Warriors (3-3, 2-2 NSIC) Friday Oct. 1
st with kick off set for 3 p.m. The Beavers conclude the weekend with a Sunday matchup against the Upper Iowa Peacocks (5-1, 3-1 NSIC) at noon.
Last Time Out: MSU continued their hot start to conference play as they defeated the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs and the Sioux Falls Cougars on the road by identical 2-1 scores. The Mustangs got on the board first to take the 1-0 into halftime. Senior

Tiffany Schennum set up Lewis for her second goal of the weekend, and the eventual game winner. The Cougars got on the board in the 66
th minute to finish the game with a 2-1 victory for the Beavers. Kindred made six saves in goal to keep the Beavers undefeated in conference play.
Top Performer: Lewis' two goal performance earned her an NSIC offensive player of the week honorable mention. Kindred's 12 saves between the two games earned her an NSIC goaltender player of the week honorable mention. Both athletes have been major contributors in the Beavers five game win-streak.
Facing the Warriors: MSU owns a 7-3 record against the Warriors. In the Last meeting on Oct. 27, 2019 the Warriors took a 3-0 victory over MSU at Winona. The Beavers finished the game with eight shots on goal and 23 shots total.
Scouting Winona State: The Warriors are coming off a split weekend against two foes the Beavers are also very familiar with. The Warriors lost at home to the Huskies of St. Cloud State 2-1 Friday night. However, they bounced back with a 3-0 home win against the UMD Bulldogs.
The Warriors have scored eight goals on the season, while also giving up eight goals this season. Senior forward

Emily Chudik are both leading the Warriors with two goals apiece. Junior forward
Jaida Wiege leads the Warriors with 17 shots total and nine of them on goal. The goaltender decision has been split evenly between freshman
Alyson Jumper and senior
Yanel Ortiz, with each starting three games this season. Jumper has so far seen only seen three goals slide past her, while Ortiz has seen five goals slip past her this season. Jumper has also mad 27 saves compared to 17 for Ortiz.
Facing the Peacocks: Neither MSU or UIU have been able to find the number of the other team as both teams are 5-5 against each other since their first meeting back in 2012. In the last meeting on Oct. 25, 2019, the Peacocks got the better of MSU with a 2-0 score.
Scouting Upper Iowa: The Peacocks are coming off their first loss of the season, as they split with the Bulldogs and Huskies. They started the weekend off with a 2-1 win over the UMD Bulldogs, but they suffered a 3-0 loss against the St. Cloud State Huskies which was their first of the season. UIU has notched seven goals on the season while tallying 69 shots total with 30 of them reaching the goaltender. Freshman defensemen
Katrina Kazluski is the current leading scorer with two goals on the season. Redshirt junior midfielder
Katie Samuels is the current leader in shots and is the only player with double digit shots for the Peacocks with 21 shots. Samuels is also the leader with shots on goal with eight on the season. Senior goaltender
Natalie Rudrud has put up quite a performance in net so far this season as she has allowed five goals while making 22 saves in net.
Looking ahead: MSU will continue their homestand with two more matches this time against Northern State (3-2-1, 2-1-1 NSIC) and Minnesota State Moorhead (0-7, 0-4 NSIC). The Beavers will first take on the Wolves of NSU in a night game on Friday Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. The Beavers will wrap up their homestand with their matchup against the Dragons of MSU Moorhead on Sunday Oct. 12 with kickoff set for noon.
