WINONA, MN --Kody Dwyer, Melvin Newbern, and Eli Cave combined to score 51 of Minot State's 67 total points, but the Beavers fell to the Winona State Warriors 80-67 on the road Saturday.
Dwyer led the Beavers (12-6, 6-6) with 19 points. Newbern tacked on 19 points and eight rebounds and Cave chipped in as well with 13 points and three steals off the bench.

Minot State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 46-32 heading into halftime.
Winona State kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 73-55 advantage before Minot State went on a 6-0 run to shrink the deficit to 73-61 with 2:22 to go in the contest. Winona State responded and outscored the Beavers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 80-67. Minot State took care of business in the paint, recording 30 of its 35 points in the lane.
