MINOT, N.D.- The Minot State women's soccer team (8-2-7, 8-1-5 NSIC) prepares for their regular season finale before the NSIC tournament with a showdown at the University of Mary Marauders (10-4-3, 7-4-3 NSIC). Kickoff at the MDU Resources Community Bowl is set for this Thursday Oct. 27th at 5 p.m.
The Marauders are coming off a weekend split, first a 2-0 setback at home against the Bemidji State Beavers, before running back to a narrow 1-0 victory on the road at the Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles. The Marauders have put up 23 goals on the year to go with their 222 shots, 114 of those shots reaching goal. UMary has made 73 saves with 65 corner kicks, while also going two for four attempts in penalty goal kicks. Kendra Park has been the leading force of UMary with seven goals with 47 shots and 27 shots on goal to lead UMary in all categories, respectively. Jessica Lemmon is next with four goals on 10 shots, eight of which on goal. Madisyn Waltman has been the steadfast force in net for the Marauders starting all 17 games for UMary. Waltman has allowed 11 goals while stopping 73 shots, facing 163 shots total for a 10-4-3 record, while accumulating eight shutouts.
The Beavers are coming off a 1-0-1 weekend, first taking a 5-0 victory over the Golden Eagles at home before heading on the road for the 0-0 draw against the BSU Beavers. MSU has made 19 goals while putting up 263 shots with 125 reaching net. MSU made 79 saves, while attempting 60 corner kicks and going two for two on penalty kicks.
Chloe Allan has led the Beavers with five goals, while
Mila Robichon and
Sarah Upton have each tacked on three goals, and
Brooklyn Casey is the other multiple goal scorer with two. Six other Beavers have notched a solo goal under their belts. Allan and
Daisy de Boer led the Beavers in shots with 46 and 33 each, respectively, while Allan and
Sofia Galvez lead the shots on goal with 28 and 17 each, respectively.
Maddie Kindred has played every minute of every game so far this year, while only allowing 10 goals while facing 196 shots and needing to make 79 saves and adding in 11 shutouts.
The Beavers are already a lock to host a first round of the NSIC tournament game. The opponent is to be determined but the matchup is tentatively set for 4 p.m. on Monday Oct. 31st for a Halloween showdown at the Herb Parker Stadium.
