FREMONT, Neb. – The Minot State women's hockey team bounced back strong Saturday after a road setback to No. 4 Midland on Friday night.
Scoring a pair of second-period goals, the fifth-ranked Beavers netted a 2-2 tie on the home ice of the Midland Warriors, wrapping up their weekend series.
Jordan Kulbida scored both the goals for Minot State (6-3-1 overall), both on the power-play, as Minot State erased an early 1-0 deficit.
Kulbida's first came with 5 minutes, 50 seconds gone in the second period off an assist by
Anna German.
Kulbida then broke a 1-1 tie with her sixth goal of the season, another power-play goal with 11:49 left in the middle stanza off a
Megan Norris assist.
A power-play goal by the host Warriors (11-3-2) later in the second period knotted the score at 2-2, where it stayed the rest of the night.
Haylie Biever made 38 saves in the game to preserve the tie in her second start of the season as Midland outshot Minot State, 40-23.
Minot State now returns home to host the University of Jamestown in back-to-back games at the Maysa Arena next Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and 20.
