Beavers fall in 3-0 sweep to Minnesota-Duluth

DULUTH, MN --The Minot State volleyball team could not overcome a dynamic Bulldogs offense Saturday on the road falling to Minnesota-Duluth in straight sets (22-25, 10-25, 20-25).

The loss dropped Minot State's record to 1-26 overall and 1-19 in NSIC action.

Taylor Wyatt finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Beavers offense with a hitting percentage of .500. Minot State got nine digs from Lucia Mercolini to lead them defensively.

SET 1 | The Beavers battled back from a seven-point 15-8 deficit, but Minnesota-Duluth hung on to win the first set 25-22.

SET 2 | Minot State fell in the second set 25-10, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. Minot State trailed by as many as 15 points as in a set that was tied up just once before the Bulldogs took over the lead.

SET 3 | Minot State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Beavers came up short by the score of 25-20. Minot State trailed by as many as eight points as Minnesota-Duluth grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was knotted up just once before the Bulldogs took over the lead.
