MINOT, N.D. – Saturday, career shutout leader
Jordan Ivanco led the way.
Sunday, it was freshman Hali Lawrence's turn as Minot State's newest goalie turned aside all 17 shots she faced for her first collegiate shutout in the Beavers' 8-0 blanking of Minnesota at the Maysa Arena.
Saturday, Ivanco made 27 saves in Minot State's 9-0 victory, her career-leading 16
th shutout at MSU.
Sydney Spicer led the way offensively, sandwiching a pair of first-period goals around one by
Alisha O'Hara, as Minot State (6-2-0 overall) grabbed an early edge and never let up.
Spicer's first came just 4 minutes, 28 seconds into the action, then O'Hara scored midway through the opening stanza for a 2-0 lead.
Spicer scored with 8:04 left in the session, then just before time expired
Riley Ball pushed the lead to 4-0 in favor of the host Beavers after just 20 minutes.
The first collegiate goal each for Abby Tallman and
Gracie Perry highlighted the second period, then
Gillian Gervin and
Anna German added a goal each in the third, capping the victory.
Jordan Kulbida had three assists, and
Megan Norris and Krissy Rink each added two assists apiece in the win for Minot State, which hits the road next weekend for games at rival Midland on Friday and Saturday night.
