DENVER, Colo. --Senior Jordan Chappell dominated on Friday, striking out eight Regis (CO) hitters over seven innings of work to help propel the Minot State Beavers over the Rangers 9-4.
In addition to his eight strikeouts, Chappell (2-0) tossed seven innings, giving up one run on three hits and no walks for Minot State (4-2). Sophomore Gage Yost also made an impact on the mound for the Beavers, throwing one inning, giving up two runs, zero earned, on one hit, with no walks and two strikeouts.
At the plate, the Beavers were led by senior Declan Buckle, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double, a walk and an RBI. Senior Blake Gallagher compiled a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Junior Ricky Apodaca also helped out for Minot State, adding two walks and an RBI.
