Floyd's 12-strikeout showing powers Minot State over Bemidji State 4-1

MINOT, ND --Freshman Reegan Floyd had everything working on Saturday, punching out 12 Bemidji State hitters over seven innings of work to help lead the Minot State Beavers over the Beavers 4-1.

That capped a day that saw Minot State fall 8-0 in its first game to visiting Montana State-Billings on day two of the Bubble Invite II.

In addition to her 12 strikeouts, Floyd (3-0) threw seven innings, giving up one run on three hits and walking none for Minot State (9-3).

In the batter's box, the Beavers were paced by junior Kilee Fehd, who went 1-for-1 on the day with a walk and two RBIs. Senior Jamie Odlum put together a standout day at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with a double. Junior Jazmin Karununga also chipped in for Minot State, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Beavers got on the scoreboard first, starting in the fourth inning. Minot State scored three runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Fehd.

The Bemidji State Beavers then gained ground, narrowing the lead to 3-1 until the Beavers expanded their advantage in the fifth. Minot State scored once on an RBI single off the bat of senior Alina Gonzalez, which brought the score to 4-1 in favor of the Beavers. The score remained 4-1 for the rest of the game, as Minot State held on for the win.
