MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State men's basketball team returns to action Friday, Feb. 4 with a 7:30 p.m. NSIC road matchup against Bemidji State University. The Beavers conclude weekend play with a 5:30 p.m. road contest against the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles.
Last Time Out
Minot State enters the weekend coming off of back-to-back NSIC losses. On Friday, Jan. 28 the Beavers were defeated 77-62 by the Peacocks of Upper Iowa University. On Saturday, Jan. 29 Minot State fell to Winona State University 80-67.
Kody Dwyer efficiently sparked the offense over the weekend scoring 25 points over the two games while shooting 80% from the field.
Scouting Bemidji State
The Beavers of Bemidji State University enter the weekend losers of 7 in a row. Minot State and Bemidji State previously met Dec. 18 resulting in an 80-78 Minot State victory. Senior guard Travis Bianco leads the way for the Bemidji State offense averaging over 16 points per game.
Scouting the Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles of Minnesota Crookston enter the weekend losers of 2 of their last 3 games. Minot State and Minnesota Crookston previously met Dec. 17 resulting in an 88-83 Minot State victory. Redshirt Junior guard Leonard Dixon leads the Golden Eagles in scoring with over 13 points per game.
Next Time Out
The Beavers return home next weekend with two NSIC contests. On Friday, Feb. 11 Minot State hosts St. Cloud State University at 7:30 p.m. Followed by a 5:30 p.m. tip off against the University of Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, Feb. 12.
