WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- Minot State pitchers Trinity Valentine and Jasmine Blizzard combined to throw 12 shutout innings at opponents on Friday, but in the end, the Beavers had to settled for a split at The Spring Games.
Blizzard came on in relief in the first game of the day after the Beavers surrendered a solo home run to Purdue Northwest (Ind.), the only run of the day Minot State allowed but it proved decision as the Pride won 1-0.
Bouncing back strong in their second contest on Friday, Valentine dominated in the second two-hitter thrown by Minot State pitchers on the day as the Beavers topped their secodn Top-10 foe of the week, beating Saint Anselm (N.H.) 3-0.
The Beavers, now 6-2 at The Spring Games and with wins over No. 8 West Chetser (5-4 in 8 innings) and No. 7 Saint Anselm (3-0) conclude play in the tournament on Saturday playing Dominican (N.Y.).

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- Senior Trinity Valentine was dealing on Friday, throwing a two-hit shutout to lead the Minot State Beavers over the Saint Anselm Hawks 3-0.
Valentine (8-3) went the distance for Minot State (18-5), giving up two hits, walking three and striking out eight.
Junior Jamie Odlum led the way offensively for the Beavers, going 1-for-2 in the ballgame with a double, a walk and an RBI. Junior Alina Gonzalez provided a standout day at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Junior Jazmin Karununga also contributed, going 2-for-3 for Minot State.

The Beavers took the lead for good in the third, scoring for the first time in the inning. Minot State scored twice on a two-run double off the bat of Odlum.

Reegan Floyd (6-1) started and took the loss in the circle for Minot State (17-5). Jasmine Blizzard was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going five shutout innings while allowing one hit, walking one and striking out two.
Maggie Mercer led the way offensively for the Beavers, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame.
