MINOT, ND -- Minot State put on an offensive show Sunday afternoon in their double-header winning, both games against Minnesota-Crookston in run-rule fashion. In game one, sophomore Brooklyn Morrison put together an outstanding outing at the plate Sunday, hitting two homers to help lead the Minot State Beavers over the Golden Eagles 10-2.
Senior Trinity Valentine (6-2) got the win for Minot State (11-3). The right-hander went 5.2 innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on five hits, allowing four walks and striking out five.
Morrison went 3-for-4 at the plate, supplementing her two home runs with four RBIs. Shwaluk went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double in addition to her three RBIs and Mercer put together a 2-for-2 day with a double and a walk, supplementing her three RBI performance for the Beavers. Senior Jamie Odlum compiled a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and an RBI.
