MINOT, N.D. --The Minot State Beavers took a 2-0 lead in the third inning and never trailed from there on the way to a 4-2 win over the Bemidji State Beavers on Tuesday.
Sophomore Gage Yost (2-0) got the win for Minot State (25-18, 19-9). The right-hander went four innings, giving up one run on five hits, allowing one walk and striking out three. Senior Branden Hatley also pitched well, going two innings, surrendering one run on one hit, walking none and striking out four.
Offensively, the Beavers were led by senior Declan Buckle, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a double and two RBIs. Sophomore Mark Ossanna furnished a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Senior Jordan Williams also contributed for Minot State, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate.
