MINOT, N.D. --Junior Kaiden Cardoso went 2-for-2 with an RBI, but the Minot State Beavers still came up short on Friday, and suffered defeat at the hands of the Saint Cloud State Huskies by a final of 3-1.
Senior Noah Myhre (2-3) started and took the loss on the mound for Minot State (26-19, 20-10). The right-hander went four innings, giving up three runs, zero earned, on seven hits, allowing one walk and striking out one. Freshman Logan Herrera was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going two shutout innings while allowing one hit, walking none and striking out two.
In the batter's box, the Beavers were led by Cardoso, who went 2-for-2 on the day with a walk and an RBI.
GAME 2: Senior Jordan Williams racked up four RBIs, but the Minot State Beavers fell to the Saint Cloud State Huskies 8-7 on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beavers were trailing 1-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Minot State got on the board thanks to junior Kaiden Cardoso's RBI double with two outs.
The Huskies then scored three runs to retake their advantage heading into the fourth inning, when the Beavers responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves. Gallagher came across to score the lone run of the inning for Minot State, which tightened the Huskies lead to 4-2.
Saint Cloud State expanded their lead to 8-2 before the Minot State offense got back in action, reducing that lead to 8-7 in the eighth. The Beavers bats heated up in the inning, scoring five runs, including a three-run home run off the bat of Williams. The Beavers were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
