MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State women's hockey team survived a defensive tussle with in-state foe Dakota College of Bottineau on Friday and did it with a milestone from
Megan Norris.
The senior eclipsed 100 career points with the Beavers, scoring a late goal to help ice a 4-0 win at the Maysa Arena.
Tied late into the second period, Minot State final broke the scoreless draw on the first of two goals by
Olivia Opheim with 4 minutes, 9 seconds left before the second intermission.
That proved to be the game-winner as
Morgan Baker made 13 saves for the shutout in her first start of the season.
Opheim scored with 7:44 gone in the third, providing some breathing room, then Norris made it 3-0 with 2:24 left for career point No. 100 at Minot State.
A final goal by
Gillian Gervin finished off the win for the Beavers, who play at Dakota College of Bottineau on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Jordan Kulbida added two assists in the win, Opheim had an assist, and
Aspen Cooper and
Anna German also had an assist each for Minot State.
