Coach's Comments
"It was a disappointing collective effort, " Minot State coach Ian Shields said. "We need to coach better and play better in all phases of the game.

"We have a bunch of young players and newcomers learning on the job which is never a great formula for success, we've had significant injuries as well obviously. Regardless, we need to become a more physical, tougher, resilient, fundamentally sound football team; there is room for improvement across the board.

"Give Northern State credit, they are well coached, physical up front, have good team speed, and have a maturity about them that frankly we don't at this time.

"There are a bunch of players and coaches that are working really hard here, we have some strong internal leadership in the locker room. We just need to stay together and keep believing; we do that and we'll eventually get this thing turned around."
