MINOT, ND --The Minot State volleyball team fell to the Bemidji State Beavers in five sets (20-25, 25-18, 14-25, 26-24, 11-15) Friday at home at MSU Dome.
The loss dropped Minot State's record to 2-25 overall and 1-16 in NSIC action.
The Minot attack was paced by Sydney Upton, who finished with 10 kills on the day, and by Emily Kotelnikoff also with 10. Defensively, they had four players reach double figures in digs, highlighted by Kendal Braun's 18, 17 from Viktoria Sedova, and 13 more from Jaina Macaulay.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Beavers fell behind early, losing the first set 25-20. Minot State trailed by as many as six points as Bemidji State grabbed the advantage for good at 17-16 in a set that was knotted up nine times before the Beavers took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | Minot State responded to pick up a 25-18 victory in set two, evening the match at one set apiece. The Beavers never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 9-8 in a set that showcased two lead changes before Minot State took over the lead. The Minot State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Bemidji State responded to win set number three, putting Minot State in a two sets to one hole. The Beavers lost the first point and never took the lead before falling in the set 25-14.
SET 4 | Minot State then responded to win the fourth set 26-24 to force a fifth set. A fantastic serving effort helped Minot State earn a victory in a set where they notched five aces. The Beavers opened up a 20-15 lead in the stanza and coasted to victory from there.
SET 5 | Minot State came up short in a back-and-forth match, winning the second and fourth sets, but dropping the first, third and fifth, which they dropped by the score of 15-11, to fall in the match. The Beavers had a lead early in the set at 10-9 before Bemidji State took over.
