Minot State falls to Bemidji State's second-half surge

BEMIDJI, MN --The Minot State men's basketball team got a 24-point performance from the bench, but fell 88-77 to the Bemidji State Beavers on the road Friday in NSIC action.


The Beavers (4-2 overall, 1-1 NSIC) had four players score in double figures, led by Khari Broadway, who had 17 points and two steals. Ben Bohl added 13 points and Dylan Gichaba helped out with 12 points off the bench.
 

How It Happened

Minot State started out the scoring by going on a 10-0 run to take an early lead with 16:59 left in the first half. The Beavers then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 38-35 advantage. Minot State did most of its first-half damage in the paint, scoring 20 of its 38 points close to the basket.
 

After a Bohl layup made it 42-37, Bemidji State erased the Minot State lead with a 9-1 run, grabbing a 54-48 advantage it never relinquished in the game's final half, picking up the 88-77 comeback victory. Minot State took care of business in the paint, recording 20 of its 39 points in the lane.
