Coach's Comments
"Saint Cloud is a very good basketball team," Minot State coach Mike Brandt said. "Our nine new players, including all our freshmen were able to experience a weekend of travel and play in NSIC. It's very tough on the road. The second game is always the toughest as fatigue sets in - but it was a solid first half and we're going to build on the success that we have had on this trip. We are anxious and ready to be home for the next five games!"

How It Happened

After falling behind 11-7, Minot State went on a 6-0 run with 5:19 left in the first quarter, culminating in a bucket from McIver, to take a 13-11 lead. The Beavers then surrendered that lead and entered the second quarter down 23-17.

Minot State kept the Huskies from increasing their lead before going on a 7-0 run, highlighted by a bucket from Emily Srejma, to take a 27-26 lead. The Huskies then came roaring back to take a 37-35 lead heading into halftime.

Minot State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Beavers faced a 56-47 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Minot State's bench made the most of its minutes in the period, as non-starters totaled eight of the team's 12 third-quarter points.

Minot State could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 75-54. Minot State fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down two shots to account for six of its seven points.
