Minot State falls 3-2 as Maryville scores walk-off win

BRANSON, Mo. -- The Minot State Beavers took a 2-1 lead into the seventh inning, but could not hold on and fell 3-2 to the Maryville Saints on Saturday in the Drury University Branson Bash.


Reegan Floyd (4-4) took the loss in the circle in relief for Minot State (9-6 overall). Gabi Dawyduk started the ballgame and went five innings, surrendering one run on four hits, walking none and striking out one.


Dawyduk led the way offensively for the Beavers, going 3-for-4 in the ballgame. Taryn Bennett provided a standout performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Abby Lohse also contributed, going 1-for-3 for Minot State with an RBI.


HOW IT HAPPENED

The Beavers put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the fourth inning. Minot State scored twice, with one run coming across on Lohse's single. The Beavers were unable to hold the lead, as Maryville scored three times over the remaining three innings to grab the 3-2 win.
