MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University and Beaver Athletics are pleased to introduce the newest members of the Minot State Athletic Hall of Fame, a group of star student-athletes that include three All-Americans along with an NSIC individual champion and Academic All-American.

Being honored as the Class of 2023 are women's soccer player Marianna Danna, softball player Tiffany Friesen, women's basketball player MacKenzie Mack, and men's golfer Kowan O'Keefe.

The Class of 2023 will be inducted into the Minot State Athletic Hall of Fame during homecoming weekend, Sept. 15-16, with the Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony begin held Friday, Sept. 15, at the Grand Hotel at 5 p.m.

The Class of 2023 will once again be honored on Saturday, Sept. 16, riding on a float during the Minot State homecoming parade that starts at 10 a.m., then again at halftime of the Beavers' homecoming football game against Minnesota State, Mankato, which is tentatively scheduled for a 2 p.m. kick-off at First Western Bank Field at Herb Parker Stadium.

Here is a look at the newest members of the Minot State Athletic Hall of Fame:
Marianna Danna actionMarianna Danna, women's soccer
The first-ever All-American in the 13-year history of the Beaver soccer program, which began play in the fall of 2010, Danna also becomes the first women's soccer player inducted into the Minot State Athletic Hall of Fame.

A two-year star defender for Minot State from Sutter High School in Sutter, California, Danna started her collegiate career playing two seasons at Yuba College (Calif.) where she twice was named Female Athlete of the Year.

Moving to Minot to help build the foundation of the Beaver soccer program, she anchored the defense and earned First-Team All-Region honors in 2010 and was named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American that season, as well.

Playing in 36 games during her two-year Minot State career, she scored three goals and had one assist from the back line. Two of her goals were game winners, the first in a 2-0 victory over Rocky Mountain College on Oct. 1, 2011, and the second fittingly coming in her final collegiate game, a 2-1 win over the University of Winnipeg on Nov. 5, 2011.

Tiffany Friesen actionTiffany Friesen, softball
A four-year starter for the Beavers who graduated from Morden Collegiate in Morden, Manitoba, Friesen contributed in the circle as a star pitcher, defensively at first and third base, and as a slugger offensively for Minot State.

Named to the 2010 All-DAC Team as a designated player as a freshman, Friesen helped the Beavers to the NAIA World Series twice where Minot State went 1-2 in pool play in 2010, and 0-3 in pool play in 2011.

Transitioning to NCAA Division II play, Friesen again helped the Beavers qualify for nationals in the team's first full-fledged season of NCAA action as Minot State advanced to the Central Region tournament in the spring of 2013, going 1-2 in the NCAA Tournament.

Friesen was named a Daktronics 3rd Team All-American, to the Daktronics All-Central Region First Team, and to the All-NSIC Second Team for her efforts as a senior in 2013 as she set Minot State single-season records with 16 home runs, 62 RBIs, and 5 saves in the circle.

In the circle, Friesen compiled a 36-12 overall record with 7 saves in her four-year career, striking out 301 opposing batters in 345 2/3 innings and compiling a 2.23 career ERA.

Offensively, she hit .334 for her career with 22 doubles, 24 home runs, 143 RBIs, and had a stellar .521 slugging percentage.

MacKenzie Mack actionMacKenzie Mack, women's basketball
An NAIA Honorable Mention All-American who twice helped lead the Beavers to the NAIA National Tournament, Mack played four seasons on the hardwood for Minot State, just a few hours away from her home in Scranton, North Dakota.

A product of Scranton High School, Mack was named to the All-Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) 2nd Team as a junior in 2008-09 and a senior 2009-10 for the Beavers, and named an Honorable Mention All-American in 2009-10, as well.

As a freshman, she helped the Beavers to the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Tournament where Minot State advanced to the quarterfinals before its season ended. She again helped lead Minot State to the NAIA National Tournament as a senior in the spring of 2010 where the Beavers were eliminated in their first game.

During her four-year career on the court for the Beavers, Mack scored 1,048 points - which ranks No. 10 all-time - grabbed 653 rebounds - which ranks No. 2 all-time - dished out 151 assists, made 119 steals, and blocked 26 shots in 119 games at Minot State. She was a 49.2 percent shooter (383-of-778) who also hit 64 3-pointers and went 218-of-306 at the free-throw line.

As a senior, Mack had single-season highs of 483 points and 235 rebounds which ranks No. 7 all-time in single-season points scored, and No. 5 in single-season rebounds at Minot State.

Kowan O'Keefe actionKowan O'Keefe, men's golf
O'Keefe re-wrote the records books at Minot State as the career leader in strokes per round with an average score of 74.49 in 61 career rounds during his 4-year career. He also shot the all-time best round in Beaver history of 66, turned in the two best single-season scoring averages of 73.7 in 2012-13, and 74.8 in 2013-14, and holds the Minot State 72-hole scoring record of 293.

Along the way to re-writing the Beaver record books, the Salmon Arm Secondary graduate from Creston, British Columbia also became Minot State's first-ever NSIC Men's Golf Champion in 2012-13, the first NSIC Men's Golfer of the Year in 2012-13, and the first NCAA Central Region qualifier in the spring of 2013. O'Keefe also advanced to the 2014 Central Region, finishing tied for 47th in his first trip and tied for 44th the second time.

A three-time All-NSIC First Team performer in 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15 who also finished in the top five at the NSIC Championship each of those seasons, O'Keefe also was a star academically as he was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2013-14 and 2014-15, earned the NSIC's Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award in 2014-15, and was the 2015 Britton Scholar-Athlete Award for Academic Excellence winner, which recognizes the NSIC's top male student-athlete.
