SAINT PAUL, Minn. -- The Minot State women's basketball team got an 18-point showing from the bench, but fell 58-39 to the Concordia, Saint Paul Golden Bears on the road Friday in NSIC play.
Lorelei McIver led the Beavers (4-12 overall,1-6 NSIC) with four points, nine rebounds, two steals and four blocks. Sydney Gustavsson also tacked on eight points and two steals and Vilborg Jonsdottir helped out with nine points and two steals off of the bench.
Led by McIver's three offensive rebounds, Minot State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 11 boards that resulted in seven second-chance points.
Minot State did a great job disrupting Concordia, Saint Paul shots in the contest, coming away with eight blocks. McIver's four rejections led the way individually for the Beavers.

Minot State kept it close in the first quarter, but entered the second frame down 16-13.
The Beavers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 29-22 halftime deficit.
Minot State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Beavers faced a 41-29 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Minot State knocked down one three-pointer in the quarter to score three of its seven total points.
Concordia, Saint Paul kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 58-34 advantage before Minot State went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Peyton Breidenbach's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 58-39 with four seconds to go in the contest, a score which would hold for the rest of the game. Minot State took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring six of its 10 points in the paint.
