Beaver volleyball falls at Minnesota State Moorhead

MOORHEAD, MN --The Minot State volleyball team fell to the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons in three sets, 25-20, 25-13, 25-20 on Tuesday on the road at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse in NSIC action.


The loss dropped Minot State's record to 1-17 overall and 0-11 in NSIC play.


Paulina Kowalska finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Beavers attack. Minot State also got 11 digs from Viktoria Sedova to lead them defensively.

The Beavers now return home to host Bemidji State on Friday at 6 p.m. at the MSU Dome, and Minnesota Crookston on Saturday at  p.m.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Beavers found themselves in an early hole, dropping the first set 25-20. Minot State trailed by as many as seven points as Minnesota State Moorhead never gave up the lead in a set that was knotted up just once before the Dragons took control.


SET 2 | Minot State dropped the second set 25-13 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. Minot State trailed by as many as 13 points as Minnesota State Moorhead grabbed the advantage for good at 5-4 in a set that was tied up two times before the Dragons took over the lead.


SET 3 | Minot State could not win the third set and was swept by Minnesota State Moorhead. The Beavers came up short by the score of 25-20. Minnesota State Moorhead grabbed the advantage for good at 21-20 in a set that was tied up 12 times before the Dragons took over in the second half of the stanza.
