MINOT, N.D. - The Minot State Beavers women's hockey team battled against #4 Adrian College in a 2024 National Championship rematch on Friday, November 15, but eventually fell by a final score of 2-4. With the loss, the #6 Beavers fall to a record of 10-4-0, while #4 Adrian College improve their record to 12-3-1. The Beavers take on Adrian College in game two of this two-game series on Saturday, November 16, at 3:45 pm at the Maysa Arena.
The first period was a back-and-forth affair that ended in both teams having scored 1 goal each. Adrian College got the scoring started early with a goal scored by Genessie Williams at 1:41 into the period to put Adrian ahead 0-1. The Beavers knotted the game up at 1-1 on a goal scored by
Karlyn Gudz at 10:47 into the period. The goal scored by Gudz was her first goal on the season.
The second period was a relatively quiet one as there was only one goal scored in the period. Adrian College took a 1-2 lead on a goal scored by Macy Piche at 4:22 into the period. The goaltender for Adrian College, Rieley Jessie-Gerelli, held the Beavers scoreless in the second period tallying 8 saves on 8 shots on goal.
Adrian College found the back of the net at 6:11 into the third period on a goal scored by Tess McKerrow to put Adrian ahead 1-3. Adrian College increased their lead to 1-4 at 9:11 into the period on a goal scored by Genessie Williams for her second goal of the game. The Beavers pulled within 2 on a goal scored by
Makenna Beard at 15:11 into the period to make the score 2-4 in favor of Adrian College. The Beavers battled hard for the remainder of the period, but eventually came up short falling to Adrian by a final score of 2-4.

Mia Mckee were credited with assists in the game. The Beaver's penalty kill unit was a perfect 6 for 6 on kills in the match-up.
