MINOT, N.D. - The Minot State Beavers women's hockey team shutout Dakota College at Bottineau in their 6-0 victory on Saturday, December 14. With the win, Minot State is now 9-0-0 in their 9 total match-ups against Dakota College at Bottineau throughout history. The Beavers now improve to 14-5-2, while Dakota College at Bottineau falls to 1-5-1 on the season.
The Beavers opened up the scoring at 18:42 into the first period on a goal scored by
Karlyn Gudz to give Minot a 1-0 lead. Minot State's goaltender,
Jillian Ackerman, held Bottineau scoreless through the first 20 minutes, tallying 12 saves on 12 shots on goal.
Tori Bear increased the Beavers lead to 2-0 on a goal scored at 4:29 into the second period.
Krissy Rink was the next Beaver to find the back of the net, scoring a goal at 5:27 into the period to give Minot a 3-0 lead. Minot State took a 4-0 lead over Bottineau on a goal scored by
Olivia Opheim at 8:30 into the period.
Jillian Ackerman held Bottineau scoreless in the second period, tallying 2 saves on 2 shots on goal.
The Beavers took a 5-0 lead at 10:30 into the third period on
Tori Bear's second goal of the game.
Journey Miller extended the Beavers lead to 6-0 scoring a goal at 13:52 into the period.
Jillian Ackerman was solid throughout all 60 minutes of play, completing the shutout against Bottineau to secure the 6-0 victory for Minot State.

Following Minot State's 6-0 shutout victory over Dakota College at Bottineau, the Beavers will be back in action after the New Year at home in a two-game series against Maryville University. Game one is scheduled for Friday, January 10, at 4:00 pm at the ND State Fairgrounds (All Seasons Arena) in Minot, North Dakota, and game two is scheduled for Saturday, January 11, at 2:00 pm at the Maysa Arena (Eck Rink).
