MINOT, N.D. -- The 19th-ranked Minot State men's basketball team kept Bemidji State to just 20 percent from beyond the 3-point arc in a 5-for-25 shooting performance on the way to a 62-58 victory over the visiting Beavers at the MSU Dome on Thursday in NSIC action.
The Beavers (17-4 overall, 12-3 NSIC) had two players score in double figures, led by Jalen Cook, who had 17 points. Khari Broadway tacked on 13 points, four assists and two steals and Ben Bohl added eight points and six rebounds.
The Minot State offense was very productive from three-point land, pouring in 12 threes on 26 attempts. Cook was the most prolific shooter for the Beavers, draining five treys in the contest. a new career high in 3s for the junior guard.
"I missed my first one but then I was able to see one go into the basket and that's always a huge confidence boost," Cook said. "And the next one felt good, and the shots just felt good today."

After falling behind 31-29, Minot State went on an 8-0 run with 1:24 left in the first half, culminating in a three from Cook, to take a 37-31 lead. Minot State relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down eight shots to account for 24 of its 37 points.
Minot State kept its lead intact before going on an 8-0 run, finished off by Cook's three, to grow the lead to 50-41 with 13:18 to go in the contest. Bemidji State narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Beavers still held on for the 62-58 win. Minot State shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting four shots from deep to score 12 of its 25 points.
