MINOT, ND -- The Minot State softball team battled but ran into a pair of tough opposing pitchers on Sunday as the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons blanked the Beavers 2-0 in a non-conference contest to wrap up the 2024 Bubble Invitational hosted in the MSU Bubble on the Minot State campus.
Senior Gabi Dawyduk (0-1) got the ball to start for Minot State (3-1 overall) and took the loss. The right-hander went four innings, giving up two runs, zero earned, on four hits, allowing no walks and striking out one. Sophomore Calley Olson was a bright spot for the Beavers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing three shutout innings, allowing one hit, with one walk and one strikeout.
At the plate, the Beavers were led by freshman Taylor Eatherton, who went 2-for-3 on the day as she collected her first two collegiate base hits.

Minot State did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Beavers went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the fifth, when junior Hannah Murray made it into scoring position with one out.
