Grant Gabbert's 3-run home run in the top of the 11th inning proved to be the final decisive blow for Minot State, which won a see-saw battle over the Colorado Christian Cougars, 17-15 in non-conference baseball on Sunday.
Gage Yost (1-2) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Minot State (3-9 overall). The right-hander went 4.1 innings, giving up four runs, both of them earned, on seven hits, allowing two walks and striking out three. Cameron Bagshaw also made an impact on the mound for the Beavers, throwing two innings, giving up two runs, zero earned, on no hits, with one walk and one strikeout.
At the plate, the Beavers were led by Gabbert, who went 3-for-5 on the day with a home run, a walk and four RBI. Brent Riddle furnished a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 3-for-6 with a home run and four RBI.
