MINOT, ND -- The Minot State men's basketball team saw all five starters score in double figures and knocked off the Concordia-Saint Paul Golden Bears 92-78 at home Friday. It was also a strong shooting night as they at times felt like could not miss.
The Beavers (19-3, 10-3) had five players score in double figures, led by Caleb Van De Griend, who had 23 points and 8 rebounds. Jalen Cook tacked on 19 points and Jaxon Gunville chipped in as well with 14 points and 2 steals.
Minot State did a stellar job taking care of the basketball, dishing out 13 assists while turning the ball over 6 times. Individually, Trey Brandt was on top of the distribution list for the Beavers with 3 assists.
Ayouba Berthe also found himself with 14 points but more importantly was tasked with guarding CSP's best in Antwan Kimmons. He and the Beavers had themselves a good night.
"It felt great. After going on that three-game losing streak, we had to pick it back up. The whole team came together, and we had to go back to where we were preseason…get back on the winning track. And this was a good team that we just played, so that was a big win for us," Berthe said.
