MANKATO, MN --The Minot State women's basketball team got a 17-point showing from the bench, but fell 92-54 to the Minnesota State University-Mankato Mavericks on the road Friday.
Jessica Mogen led the Beavers (8-18, 7-12) with seven points and two steals. Emma Mogen added nine points and six rebounds and Maya Aguilar helped out with 10 points.
The Minot State defense was effective at taking away the basketball in Friday's game, forcing 16 Maverick turnovers. Those takeaways turned into seven points on the other end of the floor. Jessica Mogen's two steals led the way individually for the Beavers.

Minot State kept it close in the first quarter, but entered the second frame down 14-12.
The Beavers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 44-29 halftime deficit.
Minot State's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Beavers faced a 68-39 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Minot State turned three offensive rebounds into two second chance points on the way to scoring 10 total points in the quarter.
Minnesota State University-Mankato kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 76-39 advantage before Minot State went on a 7-0 run, finished off by Cassidy King's layup, to shrink the deficit to 76-46 with 6:08 to go in the contest. The Mavericks responded and outscored the Beavers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 92-54. Minot State took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring eight of its 15 points in the paint.
