MINOT, N.D. - With three weeks between the MCH tournament and nationals, in-state rivals Minot State and Jamestown took the opportunity to stay in game shape with an exhibition Wednesday night at the Maysa Arena.
Coming off back-to-back overtime thrillers, the Beavers and Jimmies played another thriller with Minot State scoring a 3-2 exhibition win.
Next up for both teams is the ACHA National Tournament in St. Louis with the Beavers first game slated for Friday, March 14, and the Jimmies opening play Saturday, March 15.
In Wednesday's exhibition, Jamestown (23-9-0 overall) scored early in the first period then clung to the 1-0 lead until Minot State (36-4-1) took control in the third period.
Austin Clyne tied it 1-1 for the Beavers, 4 minutes, 32 seconds into the final stanza, then
Colby Joseph broke the tie less than 3 minutes later for Minot State.
Payton Jerome added one more for Minot State with 3:45 left to play, an important insurance goal that made it 3-1 and proved to be the game-winner as Jamestown netted a goal in the final minute with its goalie on the bench, for the final margin.

Jake Anthony and Will Dyke split time evenly in goal, each playing 30 minutes in the exhibition, with Anthony making 10 saves and Dyke stopping 11 shots.
