Oscar Pegg had a huge debut season for the Minot State baseball team while center fielder
Brent Riddle continued to be a standout team leader for the Beavers.
Both were honored for their performance on the diamond as Pegg was named to the All-NSIC 1
st Team at catcher and Riddle was named to the All-NSIC Baseball 2
nd Team at center field.
The honor is the first for Pegg, a junior from Bloomfield, Indiana, while Riddle, a senior from San Clemente, California, earned All-NSIC honors for the second time in his Minot State career.
Pegg hit .310 (53-for-171) for the Beavers in 46 games, starting 44, while adding a team-high 13 home runs, which was 5
th-most in the NSIC. Pegg also had 12 doubles and a triple and drove in a team-high 43 runs. Defensively, he had a team-leading 277 putouts sharing time at first base and at catcher, with 35 assists, a .978 field percentage, and he threw out 6 opposing base-stealers from behind the plate.
Riddle, in his third season with the Beavers, hit .305 (53-for-174) as the lone Minot State player to see action in all 49 games, starting 48. He hit 7 home runs and added 11 doubles, 1 triple, 27 RBIs, and stole a team-high 8 bases. Defensively, the Beavers' center fielder had 94 putouts and 2 assists from the outfield with a .990 fielding percentage.
