MINOT, ND --The Minot State volleyball team showed impressive resolve with a 3-2 victory against the Tuesday at home at MSU Dome.

The out-of-conference victory improved Minot State's overall record to 2-12 on the season.

The Beavers were led by a double-double from Caton Pearcy, who registered 11 kills and 19 digs on the day. Jasmin Bell also added 12 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Jaina Macaulay chipped in for with 16 digs to go with 4 blocks from Azjiah Trader.

SET 1 | Impressive serving helped the Beavers take the first set 25-17. Minot State recorded five aces in the set victory. The Beavers ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza.

SET 2 | Minot State then lost set two 25-20, tying the match at a set apiece.  Bismarck grabbed the advantage for good at 8-7 in a set that was tied up four times before the took over the lead.

SET 3 | Minot State put the second-set loss behind and grabbed a 2-1 match lead with a victory in set three. The Beavers won set three 25-20. Minot State took the lead for good at 18-17 in a set that featured 11 ties and six lead changes. The Minot State offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.

SET 4 | Minot State couldn't finish off a four-set win as the forced a fifth set with a 25-19 victory. The Beavers fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before losing the set.

SET 5 | Minot State and went back and forth all game, trading set wins until the Beavers took the fifth set 15-9 and the match. The Beavers took the fifth set with the help of a strong performance on the attacking side. Minot State registered a .333 attack percentage with 13 kills in the set win. The Beavers ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza.
