Beaver two-sport star, Brayan Augustin, sets NCAA school record in long jump

BISMARCK, N.D. – Minot State sophomore Brayan Augustin led the way for the Beavers in their return to track and field competition on Saturday with the first record-setting performance of the new calendar year.

Augustin, who also plays football for Minot State, took third in the men's long jump on Saturday at the Marauders Indoor Opener hosted by the University of Mary, setting an NCAA Division II school record with a leap of 22 feet, 5 inches. Augustin broke the old D-II record of 21-11 set by Cyrille Litche Zouogbo in 2014.

While Augustin led the way for the men, Summer Krebsbach and the Beaver 4x400-meter relay led the way for the women in Minot State's third meet of the 2025-26 indoor season as Krebsbach had a season-best performance in the 200 meters, and the Beavers relay added the lone win of the day for Minot State.

Krebsbach finished 2nd in the women's 200 in 25.59 seconds, currently moving her into the top 8 in the NSIC this season, while the Beaver relay team of Bailey Wride, Afton Wride, Krebsbach, and Julie Folk won the 4x400 relay in 4 minutes, 19.36.

Bailey Wride added one more standout performance for the Minot State women as she was 3rd in the mile in 5:16.16.

On the men's side, freshman Justin Williams doubled up in top-5 finishes in his second collegiate meet, placing 4th in the 200 meters in 23.25 and 5th in the 400 meters in 53.62.

Ethan Graham led the way for the Minot State throwers as he was 2nd in the shot put with a mark of 47 feet, 10.5 inches, while Zander Grover added a 4th-place finish in the 1,000  meters in 2:44.92, and Holter Bridwell and Samuel Butikofer each finished 5th, Bridwell in the mile in 4:34.21 and Butikofer in the high jump, clearing 6 feet.

The Minot State men added one more top finish as the quartet of Camden Jasmin, Peyton Tuhy, Zander Grover, and Bridwell were 3rd in the 4x400 relay in 3:39.85.

Back on track after a month-long break for the holidays, the Minot State track and field teams take next weekend off, then return to competition on January 31, competing at the University of North Dakota Open.
