Beavers roll past Bismarck State in 36-16 dual victory

The Minot State Men's Wrestling team earned a 36-16 dual victory over Bismarck State College on Tuesday night, powered by six match wins and four falls across the lineup.  After dropping the opening bout at 125 pounds, the Beavers quickly took control of the dual, winning seven of the final nine contested matches to secure the road win.  

Minot State got on the board at 133 pounds as Cole Faircloth posted a 17-9 major decision over John Kenney  to swing momentum early.  The Beavers followed with a string of bonus-point victories, highlighted by Brayden Guerrero's fall at 149 pounds in 2:38 and Roman Leifridt's 17-2 technical fall at 157.  Minot State continued to dominate through the middle weights, as John Armstrong (165), Mario Esposito (174), and Payton Wayman (184) each recorded falls to extend the team lead.  

Bismarck State earned points via forfeits at 141 and 197 pounds, but Minot State closed the dual strong at heavyweight, where Zachary Allen secured a 4-2 decision over Isaiah Horan to cap the scoring.  The Beavers also picked up an extra match win from Wayman in an exhibition bout at 197 pounds, closing out a solid night that showcased depth and finishing ability throughout the lineup.
