MINOT, ND – Minot State football returns home Saturday, Oct. 3, welcoming Minnesota State University Moorhead to First Western Bank Field at Herb Parker Stadium for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
The matchup marks Minot State's fourth home game and sixth overall contest of the season. The Beavers enter the game with a 1-4 overall record and stand at 1-3 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
The Beavers and Dragons last met nearly one year ago on Oct. 4, 2025, when MSU Moorhead earned a 40-37 victory over Minot State.
"Moorhead is always a challenge; they have good players, they're well coached, they play hard," Head Coach Ian Shields said. "We need to play better football, and if we do that then we have a chance."
Minot State has been one of the nation's top rushing offenses this season, ranking No. 2 nationally in rushing yards while averaging 33.8 points per game.
"We're a handful of plays away from having a lot different record than we have right now," Shields said. "It's a team effort; it's all three units."
Brandon Hines Jr. leads the Beavers' rushing attack with 686 yards and eight touchdowns. Jett Lundeen has also made an impact on the ground, finding the end zone six times this season.
Defensively, Diego Betancourt and Calvin Moore have helped lead the Beavers' secondary. Betancourt has recorded two interceptions, while Moore has one interception and three pass breakups.
Conner Raetzman and Austin Young have been key contributors against the run, recording 17 and 16 solo tackles, respectively.
"There's a lot of football left to be played."
Minot State will look to defend the home field when the Beavers take on the MSUM Dragons Saturday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. at First Western Bank Field at Herb Parker Stadium.
