SIOUX FALLS, SD --The Minot State volleyball team lost to the Augustana (SD) Vikings 3-1 (20-25, 18-25, 25-16, 22-25) Friday on the road at Elmen Center.
The loss dropped Minot State's record to 4-15 overall and 0-10 in NSIC play.
The Beavers were led by a double-double from Caton Pearcy, who registered 10 kills and 10 digs on the day. Emily Willis also added 11 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Maya Vibeto chipped in for with 18 digs to go with three blocks from Kiera Hayes.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Beavers fell behind early, losing the first set 25-20. Augustana (SD) grabbed the advantage for good at 19-18 in a set that was knotted up 14 times before the Vikings took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | Minot State lost the second set 25-18, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. The Beavers lost the second set despite a solid performance on the attacking end. Minot State put together a .308 attack percentage with 11 kills in the set loss.
SET 3 | Minot State rallied back to pull within two sets to one, winning their first set of the match in the third stanza. The Beavers led from the first point on in the set to earn a 25-16 victory. Minot State opened up as much as an 11 point lead at 23-12 before closing out the set. The Minot State offense also got a boost from five aces in the stanza.
SET 4 | Minot State couldn't keep the rally going and lost in the fourth set 25-22 to drop the match. The Beavers battled back from a seven-point deficit at 7-0, but it wasn't enough as Augustana (SD) held on to win the set.
