Minot State continued play at the Space Coast Spring Games on Thursday with a split, earning a dramatic 4-3 extra-innings walk-off victory over Saint Anselm before falling 4-3 to Goldey-Beacom in Melbourne, Florida. The Beavers move to 11-7 overall after Jessie Henry delivered the game-winning hit in the opener and several Beavers contributed offensively throughout the day. Minot State will look to bounce back as tournament play continues.

Minot State 4, Saint Anselm 3 (9 inn.)
VIERA, Fla. — The Minot State Beavers needed nine innings to finish the job Thursday, walking it off in a 4-3 extra-innings victory over the Saint Anselm Hawks.
Sophomore Sarah Misner (3-1) earned the win for Minot State (11-6), tossing two shutout innings without allowing a hit. Junior Katie Newberry started the game in the circle, throwing three innings and giving up one run on one hit with one walk and three strikeouts.
Anna LaCount led the Beavers at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Beavers answered in the second inning when senior Mallory Hoogensen delivered an RBI single to score LaCount from second base and tie the game.
Saint Anselm regained the lead before Minot State responded again in the sixth inning. The Beavers plated two runs in the frame, highlighted by LaCount's RBI double that gave Minot State a 3-2 advantage.
The Hawks tied the game at 3-3 to force extra innings, but the Beavers delivered in the bottom of the ninth when Jessie Henry came through with the walk-off at the plate, allowing LaCount to score the winning run.

MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Minot State Beavers held a late lead but could not hold off a Goldey-Beacom rally, falling 4-3 to the Lightning on Thursday.
Taylor Kruse (2-3) started in the circle and took the loss for Minot State (11-7).
Sara Van led the Beavers offensively, going 1-for-4 with an RBI. Paige Kellogg also drove in a run, while Mallory Hoogensen added two hits in two trips to the plate.

Minot State struck first in the opening inning, taking advantage of a bases-loaded walk by Jessie Henry to score the game's first run.
Goldey-Beacom answered to tie the game before the Beavers reclaimed the lead in the second inning when Van drove in a run with an RBI single to make it 2-1.
The Beavers extended their advantage to 3-1 in the fourth inning on another RBI single, but the Lightning responded late, scoring three runs across the final three innings to claim the 4-3 victory.
