Minot State (8-8 overall, 4-4 NSIC) looks to close the weekend strong when the two teams play a final game on Saturday.

ELKHORN, Neb. -- Junior Cowen Meyer went 1-for-2 with a home run and an RBI for the Minot State Beavers in an 8-1 loss to the Minnesota State Mavericks on Friday.
Sophomore Wyatt Toth (2-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Minot State.
At the plate, the Beavers were led by Meyer, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a home run and an RBI.

Junior Colton Bagshaw (1-2) got the ball to start for Minot State and took the loss. Freshman Tanner Groseclose was a bright spot for the Beavers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing one shutout inning, allowing one hit.
In addition to his three hits, Anderson had a double to lead the Beavers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Beavers first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Anderson came across to score the lone run of the inning after an error on a double steal four Minot State and get them on the board. Minnesota State then scored three times over the remaining four innings to break the tie and grab the 4-1 win.
