ST. CLOUD, Minn. --Junior Colton Bagshaw was mowing people down on Monday, striking out eight Saint Cloud State hitters over six innings of work to help lead the Minot State Beavers past the Huskies 15-6.
In addition to his eight strikeouts, Bagshaw (4-4) threw six innings, giving up one run on three hits and walking two for Minot State (17-21, 12-16). Senior Conner Meldrim also made an impact on the mound for the Beavers, throwing one scoreless inning while allowing no hits.
Offensively, the Beavers were paced by senior Noah Madas, who went 3-for-5 on the day with a double, a home run, a walk and six RBIs. Senior Michael Williamson furnished a standout performance at the plate as well, going 5-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Sophomore Wyatt Toth also helped out for Minot State, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding a double and three RBIs.

The Beavers got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Madas came across to score the lone run of the inning for Minot State and get them on the board.

The Huskies fought back, closing the gap to 10-4 until Minot State added some insurance in the eighth. The Beavers scored five runs in the inning, highlighted by a two-run home run off the bat of Williamson and a two-run double from Toth, bringing the Minot State advantage to 15-4. Saint Cloud State put two runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but the Beavers still coasted to the 15-6 win.
