Senior Conner Meldrim (4-3) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Minot State (18-21, 13-16). The right-hander went one shutout inning while giving up one hit, allowing no walks and striking out one. Freshman Thomas Mitchell also made an impact on the mound for the Beavers, throwing three innings, giving up one run on two hits, with two walks and two strikeouts.
In the batter's box, the Beavers were led by Gates, who went 2-for-5 on the day with a home run and three RBIs. Senior Michael Williamson furnished a standout performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI.
