Minot State capped its weekend in Bemidji with a Sunday sweep, rolling past Bemidji State 8-3 in Game 1 behind Oscar Pegg's three-hit, three-RBI day before taking Game 2, 5-2, as all nine starters reached base to even the Beavers' record at 22-22. Minot State returns to action April 28 with an NSIC doubleheader at Minnesota Crookston, with first pitch set for 1:30 p.m.

BEMIDJI, Minn. --The Minot State Beavers took a 1-0 lead in the second inning and never surrendered the advantage on the way to an 8-3 victory against the Bemidji State Beavers on Sunday.
Junior Colton Bagshaw (5-4) got the win for Minot State (21-22, 16-17). The right-hander went seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on five hits, allowing two walks and striking out six. Junior Seth Dietz also pitched well, going one shutout inning while allowing one hit, walking none and striking out one.
At the plate, the Beavers were led by senior Oscar Pegg, who went 3-for-5 on the day with a home run and three RBIs. Senior Noah Madas compiled a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Senior Michael Williamson also helped out for Minot State, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding a double and a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beavers got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Minot State got an RBI single from senior Jake Orthner, scoring Pegg from third base.
The Bemidji State Beavers failed to push any runs across before the Beavers offense got back to their scoring ways the next inning. Junior Vinnie Gates' run-scoring single highlighted an inning where Minot State scored twice, which brought the score to 3-0 in favor of the Beavers.
Bemidji State narrowed Minot State's lead to 3-2 before the Beavers stretched the advantage to 6-2 in the fifth inning. The Beavers scored three runs in the frame, two of them coming across on a two-run homer from Pegg.
Minot State kept the Bemidji State Beavers scoreless before their offense got things moving the next inning. Junior Jorey Anderson crossed home plate with the lone run of the inning for the Beavers, bringing the Minot State advantage to 7-2.
The Beavers held Bemidji State scoreless before expanding their lead to 8-2 the following inning. Minot State scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Pegg. Bemidji State put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but the Beavers still coasted to the 8-3 win.

Junior Wyatt Anicker (1-1) started on the mound and picked up the win for Minot State (22-22). The southpaw went one shutout inning without giving up a hit. Senior Jack Seibert also made an impact on the mound for the Beavers, throwing one shutout inning while allowing no hits, with one walk and two strikeouts.
At the plate, the Beavers were led by junior Jorey Anderson, who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double and two RBIs. Senior Jessen West furnished a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-4.

The Beavers got the scoring started early, putting two runs on the board in the top of the first inning. Minot State's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a two-run single off the bat of Anderson.
