Prior to MSU
A 4-year starter at Bucyrus HS, Swisher recorded 364 kills, 53 blocks, and 22 service aces as a senior. She was named 1st-Team All-District 6 and 1st-Team All-N10 (conference), earned her team's Offensive Player of the Year, and played in the District 6 All-Star match. Academically, she was named to the honor roll, was president of Bucyrus' National Honor Society, a DECA national representative for Bucyrus, and graduated with honors. Emma also ran track all 4 years and played basketball for 2 seasons. She was named Offensive Player of the Year both season in basketball and earned 2nd-Team All-N10 honors, and was her team's MVP all 4 years in track and was the N10 running MVP her junior season as she finished 8th at state in the 400 meters, earning All-Ohioan honors as she set the Bucyrus school record in the 400 (59.43 seconds).
