2010: Followed up a great freshman year with an even better sophomore season, was third on the team with 54 tackles (20 solo, 34 assists)... He hauled down the opposing quarterback six times, and was also a menace swatting down two pass attempts... Recorded nine tackles twice, Dakota State (10/9) and South Dakota Mines (10/16), for a career high... Ranked 17th in the country in sacks per game averaging .600... Ranked 22nd in the country in total sacks (6).

2009: Had an outstanding first season with the Beavers, recording 37 tackles (10 solo, 27 assists), including 7.5 tackles-for-a-loss... Recorded 3.5 sacks for 23.5 yards... Had a career high eight tackles and two tackles-for-a-loss against Mayville State (10/24)... Finished with six tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-a-loss and .5 sacks against South Dakota School of Mines (10/10).

2008: Redshirted.

High School: Was an All-State and All-Conference performer for Hardin Senior High School... Played football, basketball and track and field... Earned basketball's Mr. Hustle and Spirit of the Team awards.

Personal: Son of Linda and Kenneth Brien... Majoring in Art.
