Coach Anthony Garnett joined the Beaver football staff in the winter of 2023 and will be the secondary coach for Minot State.

Coach Garnett joins the Minot State staff after the 2022 season as wide receivers coach at Bakersfield College and spending 3 seasons as a defensive assistant at Arizona State from 2018-2021. 

Prior to his time with the Sun Devils, he served as special teams coordinator and strength & conditioning coach at De Anza College in California, he spent the 2016-17 seasons as assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and defensive backs coach at Seaside High School, served as tight ends and wide receivers coach from 2014-16 at Monterey Peninsula College, and spent 2010-12 as quarterbacks coach at Missouri University S&T..

Garnett played quarterback at Cal Poly where he earned First-Team All-Great West honors. He graduated in 2006 from Cal Poly with a Bachelors in Kinesiology, and received his Masters in Recreation and Sport Pedagogy Concentration in Coaching Education from Ohio University at the Patton College of Education Earned in 2015.

Coach Garnett also has a daughter, Adrynne Ella.
